Earthquakes Waves Japan, Air Transportation Affected

An earthquake measuring 8.9 magnitude has shaken the northeast island of Honshu, Japan or about 130 miles east of Sendai, Honshu Island or 373 km in the southeast of Tokyo. The earthquake which occurred around 14:00 local time, at a depth of 24 kilometers-high tsunami disaster has led to 10 meters on the island of Honshu.
Honshu is the largest island in Japan. Tokyo City, Yokohama and Osaka are in this island.
Sendai Airport has been closed. According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, for about 711 flights were canceled at domestic airports. About 13.000 people were stranded at Narita Airport in Chiba Prefecture and transferred to Kansai Airport in Osaka. About 10.000 people also were stranded at Tokyo's Haneda Airport.
Reportedly, the band Iron Maiden flight using a special plane "Ed Force One" were also diverted to Nagoya, Japan. Iron Maiden is scheduled to appear in Tokyo on March 12 to 13 in the series of concert tours of "The Final Frontier World Tour 2011".
The earthquake has been killed hundreds of people and left many missing.
Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii warned that the earthquake that followed the tsunami waves that could threaten the Pacific islands region, including Russia, Marcus Islands, Northern Marianas, Wake Island, Taiwan, Guam, Hawaii, Philippines, Solomon Islands and Indonesia.
